We’re Here!!
Thursday, June 11, 2009 9:20 pm by carnmb8After a long day of travel we have finally arrived in Managua. We started out the morning thinking we would be flying from Atlanta to Miami to Managua. But that was too simple! Therefore, we re-routed our way through Guatemala! Haven, Maria, and I managed to navigate our way out of the airport, carrying 5 bags through large crowds, and finally checking back in with COPA airlines. For a minute we thought they were not going to let us back into the airport. I lucked out and got promoted to business class, leaving Maria and Haven behind. Once in Managua we met up with Lisa and Jose. The hotel is beautiful and we feel right at home!
This afternoon Dr. Giles and Jose took a few of us over to the new Wake Forest house here in Managua. The property is gorgeous! (see picture below of Haven, Maria, Lisa and I) We are all just jealous that the house will not be ready until next summer.
Tonight we had a great time at the pool and we are waiting for the rest of our class to arrive with Dr. Miller.
