Historic Images of Forsyth County Available Online

Digital Forsyth is a collaborative digitization project by Wake Forest University’s Z. Smith Reynolds Library and Coy C. Carpenter Medical Library, the Forsyth County Public Library and Winston-Salem State University’s C.G. O’Kelly Library to preserve Forsyth County’s photographic history and to make it more accessible by providing online access to the images in their collections. A federal grant awarded last fall by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the State Library of North Carolina is underwriting the three-year, $225,000 project. The goal, over the course of three years, is to scan and post online about 12,000 images depicting Forsyth County’s cultural history.
