Since the 1960’s birth control has been around. The history of birth control started with the discovery or sex and pregnancy. The oldest forms of birth control included coitus interruptus, pessaries, and the ingestion of herbs that were thought to be contraceptive or abortifacient. The earliest record of birth control use is an ancient egyptian set of instructions on creating a contraceptive pessary. Physical methods may work in a variety of ways, among them: physically preventing sperm from entering the female reproductive tract; hormonally preventing ovulation from occurring; making the woman’s reproductive tract inhospitable to sperm; or surgically altering the male or female reproductive tract to induce sterility. Some methods use more than one mechanism. Physical methods vary in simplicity, convenience and efficacy.
Normal ways to stop pregnancy are basically condoms. Now scientist say there could soon be a birth control for men. Scientist have found the hormones in the testis that control the normal sperm count and male fertility. Also men that has low sperm count or are unable to have a child will be able to with the pill or some version of it. This is important because many say that wearing condoms takes away from the pleasures of sex, but this does not protect from STD’s.
