Dr. Elizabeth Phillips exhibit

The 1st Dr. Elizabeth Phillips Award for the Best Essay in Women’s and Gender Studies prompted an exhibit. Dr. Phillips, Emeritus Professor of English, was one of the first female professors, and the first female department head at Wake Forest. Phillips is a noted author and poet. She taught at Wake Forest from 1957-1989. The Department of Women’s and Gender Studies is offering the first award in honor of Dr. Phillips this year.
