Need notes to the financial statement?

Thursday, May 1, 2008 12:01 pm

If you need to see the notes that accompany a company’s financial statements in order to read their accounting policies or the auditor’s letter, you’ll need to go to the company’s 10-K. This is a document that every publicly-traded company must file with the SEC annually. To find it, point your browser to sec.gov. Under filings & forms, click on “Search for company filings”, then on “companies & other filers” and enter the company’s name or ticker symbol. Scroll down until you find the 10-K or enter “10-K” in the box for type of forms.
