Spring Break \’08: Arkansas

Sitting in the Airport

Well, the Arkansas trip has suffered some delays. First, the students decided, wisely, to delay departure by one day due to the winter weather throughout all of Alabama and parts of Mississippi. Prof. Smith and I were set to depart this morning at 6:15 (AM) and expected to be in Little Rock by 9 so we could make the final trek to Magnolia/Stephens. Well, its 7 AM now and we have been re-routed through Cincinnati (instead of Atlanta) and expect to arrive in LR by 2:30 this afternoon…..at least there is wireless at the Greensboro airport!! The fun part, if there can be such a thing, is watching a bunch of stranded Wake Forest students on their way south for spring break.

Well, students, you may well beat us to Arkansas…but either way I hope we all get their safely and I’m looking forward to our week together.

ps…check out the comments…my dad the “other” Dr. Hattery is blogging!!! Go BOB!

What an adventure this group is having! Getting out of NC seems to have taken a bit of time, but now you are off and running. Keep posting your progress and your reactions. I enjoy them so much. I especially enjoyed the “horse show.”
